Simulating water and nitrogen runoff with APSIM

چکیده

To determine the impact of potential reductions terrain-targeted nitrogen (N) fertilisation rates on N losses a simulation study was carried out using Agricultural Production Systems Simulator (APSIM). simulate runoff simple approach used, in which is based concentration soil solution and an extraction coefficient. Firstly, APSIM parameters that have largest effect water were determined for terrains with different slopes poorly drained silt loam. A sensitivity analysis then conducted to assess hydraulic properties organic carbon content losses. Finally, set up pasture production dynamics (including uptake, leaching runoff) farm rolling hills South Canterbury, New Zealand. Two approaches either scheduled or aboveground pasture. For loam, rainfall intensity surface conductance had highest amount lost by runoff. Soil conductivity at saturation field capacity, as well plant available also controlled N, while topsoil less Both coefficient depth considered exchange affected via Using prior positive effects yield reduced

Investigating the Effect of Surface Gravel Cover on Runoff and Soil Erosion with Simulating Runoff

Surface gravel cover is an important factor for contoroling of soil erosion in dry area specially in area that plant can not grow because of excessive dryness and salinity. The objective of this study was investigation effect of different surface gravel cover on runoff and sediment yeild. For this porpose, 36 field plots with 20 meter length and 0.5 meter width at 3 percent slope were construct...

Simulating pan-Arctic runoff with a macro-scale terrestrial water balance model

A terrestrial hydrological model, developed to simulate the high-latitude water cycle, is described, along with comparisons with observed data across the pan-Arctic drainage basin. Gridded fields of plant rooting depth, soil characteristics (texture, organic content), vegetation, and daily time series of precipitation and air temperature provide the primary inputs used to derive simulated runof...

Simulating watershed runoff with a new data model

This paper presents the implementation of a new data model for simulating watershed runoff. This data model, called nen, allows users to visualize and analyse the processes that are simulated in the watershed runoff model. It extends data models typically used in modelling watershed runoff, such as raster, that do not give direct insight into the spatial dynamics and distribution of the process...

Accuracy and performance of three water quality models for simulating nitrate nitrogen losses under corn.

Simulation models can be used to predict N dynamics in a soil-water-plant system. The simulation accuracy and performance of three models: LEACHM (Leaching Estimation And CHemistry Model), NCSWAP (Nitrogen and Carbon cycling in Soil, Water And Plant), and SOILN to predict NO3-N leaching were evaluated and compared to field data from a 5-yr experiment conducted on a Hagerstown silt loam (fine, m...

Managing urban runoff in residential neighborhoods: Nitrogen and phosphorus in lawn irrigation driven runoff

Sources and mechanisms of nutrient transport in lawn irrigation driven surface runoff are largely unknown. We investigated the transport of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) in lawn irrigation driven surface runoff from a residential neighborhood (28 ha) of 56% impervious and 44% pervious areas. Pervious areas encompassing turfgrass (lawns) in the neighborhood were irrigated with the reclaimed wa...
